Biodiesel Production Technologies
ABOUT THE BOOK:
India is major importer in the global oil market and any fluctuation in the
price of the oil would affect its economy. Therefore alternative source of fuel
is necessary to meet our oil demands. India has large scope of biodiesel due to
the large scale of biomass availability. As per conditions of India only seeds
containing non-edible oil can be considered for biodiesel. The biodiesel having
the advantage of being potential renewable source of energy is known to be
nontoxic, eco friendly, easy to store and to transport, and has better lubricity
properties.
The book deals with various technologies for production of biodiesel.
Characterization of Vegetable Oils & Waste Vegetable Oils, Rate Equation for
Biodiesel Production Reaction, Anaerobic Reactors for Production of Biogas and
Biohydrogen, Kinetics of Generation of Power coupled with Reduction in BOD in
Effluents using Microbial Fuel Cell and Micellar Spectrophotometric
Determination of Metal Ions in Samples of Biodiesel are other major themes of
this book.
The book will be handy reference for students, academicians, researchers
biotechnologists, chemical and bio-engineers.
