The old edition has been revised thoroughly and obsolete information was deleted and necessary corrections made. New chapters on Supercritical Fluid Extraction & Ultrasonic Extraction are examples of this new development. Due to rapid development in the fields of pharmacology and bioavailability and to enhance shelf-life of products, two new chapters have been added respectively; Herb Drug Interactions and a chapter on Liposomes and Phytosomes.

ABOUT THE EDITOR’S:
1. Dr. Rajpal obtained his doctorate in phytochemistry in 1976 and since then has been associated with the herb processing and testing of botanicals, their extracts and phytochemicals in an industrial setting. He also provides consultancy services to various companies in this sector. He is presently working as a Technical Director with a company engaged in extraction of botanicals.
2. D.P.S. Kohli graduated in Pharmacy in 1954 with decades of practical manufacturing experience of drug formulations behind him. He also worked as a Pharmaceutical Consultant having set up over 50 drug formulation factories.
