ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Dr. A. B. Sharangi is working as an Associate Professor in the Department of Spices and Plantation Crops, Faculty of Horticulture, Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya (Agricultural University), Mohanpur, Nadia, West Bengal, India. He has teaching experiences at UG and PG level for more than ten years in this discipline and is engaged in research works with various Projects funded by different agencies. Being a brilliant scholar all throughout he served as a scientist in the All India Coordinated Research Project on Palms and attended several workshops and conferences at different places of the country. He has vast experience in the field of Spices crop production and value addition. Sponsored by the fellowship from the Ministry of Agriculture as well as by that of the External Affairs of Israel, he has visited the country and has an extensive training experience on quality horticultural crop production. On several occasions he has also visited countries like Thailand and Bangladesh. He has in his credit over 50 published research papers in various national and international peer-reviewed journals, seven books and popular articles (English, Hindi and Bengali).
